Deacon Randy Wilson was born in the small town of Cornell, Wisconsin. Raised as a Methodist, Randy became Catholic when he and his wife Kay were married in 1970. In 1981, they moved to Texas. They became members of Our Lady of the Lake in 1986, and both served as Eucharistic Ministers and visited the homebound. Randy and Kay have two daughters and seven grandchildren.
Deacon Randy felt the call to become a deacon in 2006 and was subsequently ordained to the diaconate on February 2, 2013. It was during his formation as a deacon that he first encountered Fr. Seán, who conducted the courses on the letters of Saint Paiul. After ordination, Randy was initially assigned to St. Anthony’s in Wylie and was reassigned here at Our Lady of the Lake in 2018.
He retired in December of 2017, so now he enjoys traveling and the quiet time that comes with retirement. He also enjoys the additional time he can offer to his ministry as a deacon at Our Lady of the Lake.
