This ministry is for those called by compassion to be the presence of Christ to the most vulnerable. By reasons of our baptism, all Christians have a special share in the ministry to the sick and aging. Through the giving of the Eucharist, attentive listening, sharing prayer, offering reassurance and being present, ministers will bring the Body of Christ to those who cannot join us physically in worship. Serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at mass is not a requirement. Ongoing training will be provided.
All ministers to the nursing home and homebound must have updated safe environment clearance.
To keep track of your training, go to the Safe Environment page and click Check Current Compliance (on the left side of the page) That page has a link 'My Obligations' which brings up a sign in page. It's a name/address log in. This will allow you to update your contact info and check your training status.
