Safe Environment
At Our Lady of the Lake, we are dedicated to providing a safe environment for our children and youth and for those in special needs. Compliance with the Diocesan Safe Environment policy (Safe Environment Policy) is an important objective for all staff members and volunteers. Please contact the church office for more information about this program.
Safe Environment Committee is made up of a group of volunteers who assist the Pastor and the Safety Officer in implementing the Safe Environment Program of the Parish It is the purpose of the Safe Environment program to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect of any kind and to provide a safe and nurturing environment for staff, both paid and volunteer, and for parishioners of all ages.

Three personal references are checked.
A twenty to thirty minute interview is conducted.

2. Each volunteer/employee MUST attend a Training Session and attend a video presentation that includes the Diocesan safe environment video which is 25 minutes long. Please allow one and half hour for the training. Training must be updated on an annual basis.

SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING
If you are a new volunteer or currently serving in a ministry and need to fulfill your safe environment training requirement the following sessions are available:
Saturday, May 31 10:00 am for new volunteers
10:30 am for returning volunteers
