Prayer & Spiritual Growth

SUNDAY EVENING CENTERING PRAYER GROUPWhat is Centering Prayer? Centering prayer is a very simple pure form of prayer, frequently without words; it is an opening of our minds and hearts to the Spirit dwelling within us. To enter into centering prayer requires a recognition of our dependency on God and a surrender to Love. " Be still and know that I am God." ( Ps. 46:10)

Our Centering prayer group meets on Sunday evening from 6:30 pm. until 8:15 pm. in the St. Anne room.  After two sessions of Centering Prayer we do the practice of Lectio Divina or Holy Reading as done in the monastic tradition, using the Sunday readings for the following week. One time a month we view the Spiritual Journey tapes as presented by Thomas Keating, OCSO.For more information contact Sandy Guancial at cpdallas@cellofpeace.com; 972-722-6029 or web site: www.cellofpeace.com

THE PRAYER QUILT MINISTRY: T he Prayer Quilt Ministry combines the gift of prayer with the gift of quilt making. The purpose of the Prayer quilt Ministry is to provide prayers through the tying of knots.
The prayer quilt is made with tassels that are to be tied after a prayer is said for those who are in a spiritual or physical crisis and in need of lots of prayers. Once the quilt is full of prayers, the quilt is then given to the recipient, so that they can be covered in prayer during their crisis. All are welcome whether a quilter or not, If you feel you'd like to be a part of this rewarding ministry, we'd love to have you. The group meets on the first Saturday of the month at 9:00 am, in the Holy Family Center.  For more information contact Maria Dempsey @ 972-771-6671 ext. 101
