Parish Manager

Through use of a Parish Manager, the pastor will better be able to carry out his mission to evangelize more freely. Under the vigilance and direction of the pastor, the Parish Manager is attuned not only to the business activities of the parish but also to the other aspects of parish life. The Parish Manger coordinates with other members of the staff through participation in staff planning and operational meetings and significant dialogue with the pastor so that he is fully apprised of matters being considered and acted upon. The Parish Manager attends parish and diocesan meetings pertinent to the role.

1. Financial Records:
• Maintains parishioner contribution records;
• Establish security procedures to ensure the safety of parish funds;
• Reviews all invoices prior to payment for reasonableness and
accuracy and indicate approval for payment;
• Obtains competitive prices and purchase supplies from vendors offering the best quality items for the most reasonable price;
• Monitors parish compliance with diocesan policies regarding real estate,
insurance, capital projects, etc.;
• Serves on the Parish Finance Council

2. Safe Environment:
The Parish Manager serves as the parish’s Safe Environment Director and is responsible for the implementation and coordination of the various policies, programs, and procedures mandated within the Diocese of Dallas regarding the creation and maintenance of a safe environment, including the evaluation and background checks of all employees and of all volunteers who have regular contact with minors, specifically, the process of background checks.

Responsibilities include the following:
• Coordinating the distribution of: Diocese of Dallas Policy Regarding Sexual Abuse of Minors, Sexual Misconduct, and Sexual Harassment;
• Ensuring that the safe environment training, “Family of Faith” is taking place within the parish and that all clergy, parish employees and volunteers who regularly serve in programs involving children have received that training,
• Coordinating the request for background checks,
• Maintaining a parish registry or database of these measures as they are taken
• Serves on the parish’s Safe Environment Committee.

3. Pastoral Care to the Sick and Bereavement Ministry:
• Oversees and/or provides pastoral care to the hospitalized, homebound,
and/or nursing home residents.

4. Processes marriage annulment cases
