Our Lady Of The Lake Our Lady Of The Lake

Family Centered Faith Formation (Grades 1-6)

I.  Family-centered learning

         A.  Families learning together

At Our Lady of the Lake, we use a family centered model for catechesis. Under this family-centered model, children and adults will gather together at tables in the Holy Family Center.  Each child must be accompanied by at least one adult.  Facilitators will take turns presenting the weekly lesson.

           B.  Class times

The four weekly sessions of family-centered Faith Formation will be offered on Sunday evenings (4:30 p.m.- 5:45 p.m.)  , Monday evenings (6:30 p.m.-7:45 p.m.), and Wednesday afternoons (4:15 p.m.-5:30 p.m.) and again on Wednesday evenings (6:00 p.m.-7:15 p.m.).

           C. Sunday simultaneous with High Tide- Parents' choice

The Sunday night session will occur simultaneously with the High Tide Program.   Families can choose whether to have their middle-schooler attend the family session with them or go to High Tide, which will continue to take place at Heritage Christian Academy facilities.

II.  Building Faithful Families Builds a Strong Faith Community

By providing family-centered formation, we build households of faith.  By bringing families together, we build a community of faith. By building the community of faith, we strengthen and empower members of Our Lady of the Lake to not only receive the Body of Christ, but to go forth and be the body of Christ.
